Scalextric - 50 years on
« on: December 20, 2007, 10:12:32 AM »
http://www.scalextric.com/50th-anniversary,41,SAR.html

So, this year will be the 50th Christmas of frustration and anguish as cars and track are crunched underfoot and pets eat small plastic motor racing parts.

It was the start of the rot in terms of highly priced techno-toys that didn't live up to expectations.

Monopoly was the last proper Christmas game/toy in my opinion.

Changed a bit too, in my opinion. Is it for the better? Juries out at the moment.

See what you think:

"Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."

Well, someone had to say it!

My yougest got Scalextric last Christmas and the older one got a Horby electric train set. The older one wants additions to turn it into a twin track layout with new loco, tunnels and stations etc and the younger one wants to know why you can't add onto Scalextric. noooo:

Technically you can add on to scalextric as long as you get another set with compatible tracks.  whistle:

Nah, there is official scalextric and cheap knock off copies. Plus I dont know if the newer ones are compatible as they are more sophisticated

I am discomforted by your apparent deep knowledge of the subject.  noooo:
