The "Principle Boy" is traditionally played by a young lady but one that is usually an established star and thus a bit older than the heroine (who nowadays is a young lady plucked from a soap opera) It is normal to select a "star" name for the part of PB and main requirements are "Vivacity and athleticism". One who has made quite a career out of the role over the years is Anita Harris.
