"One Railway's" web site appears to be down ...... so no updates available. BBC Travel site is still saying it's closed. All other news sites are saying the same in their updates ~ the latest I have found being the Telegraph On-Line of 52 minutes ago.

I should book tomorrow and Friday off Uncle or take work home.

Can't do that ~ far too seriously busy  ;)

One now says that my service has been resumed from Liverpool Street.

"One" stupid name for a railway anyway. Fortunately it's being changed:

Train rebrand signals end of One

You surprise me Mort, wouldn't give two tosses what it was called so long as the service was reliable.

And quote some tit:

"Peter Meades, from One Railway, said the re-brand on trains and at stations would coincide with routine painting and would cost no extra money."

Free paint, brilliant!

The rot set in when British Railways became British Rail. My line was called WAGN (!) West Anglia and Great Northern before becoming One. The Fenchurch Street line is c2c for heaven's sake.

It should be The London, Cambridge and Stansted Railway Company Ltd. A far more solid name.

'Cambridge, Uxbridge and Northern Train Service' would be better still.

Back to work this morning but rained-off… I’ve come home again…  whistle:

ON TOPIC: They were saying on the wireless earlier that the subsidy for the rail network is now six billion Pounds a year whereas British Rail used to get one billion…  Banghead

Didn’t they privatise it to save money?  rubschin:
