More Guesswork called "Research"
« on: January 10, 2008, 09:10:07 AM »
Quote
One in three doctors was assaulted, either physically or verbally, in the last year but most did not report it, research suggests.

Well if it wasn't reported I'm afraid I don't believe it happened. Just another set of useless suppositions dressed up as research and announced to the media as facts ~ presumably so that we will feel sorry for the poor dears and not mind their accepting huge tax funded salaries for doing sod all.

More sensationally reported (well it would be) by the Daily Mirror
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/topstories/2008/01/10/third-of-all-doctors-attacked-89520-20280080/

And from the Guardian

Goggle has a further 67 news sources carrying this story today.  ::)

Oooooooooh....now please don't get me started on research.....

Working in the science environment myself, I am fully aware of the trials and tribulations of applying for and then actually receiving funding for scientific research projects.  Endless forms for funding applications which takes literally weeks to fill out and waste hours of your time that you could be actually doing said research into some fantastic cure for some horrible disease......

Then months pass and you hear nothing from said funding body.......until you receive a letter in the post saying you application has been unsuccessful and please try again next year.

THEN, you realise money for scientific research is funding stuff like this...............

Excuse me I'm just off to lobotomize the contents of my cutlery draw...
The universe is run by the complex interweaving of three elements. Energy, matter, and enlightened self-interest.
