Hi Garga
Lovely pictures!   The Abbey looks much bigger than I had envisaged when reading my book.   Can't wait to slug, sorry sip, some chilled dry white wine outside the mayhane in the village . . .

Hi Nick
I have reason to believe LL may have fairly renently already acquired a suitable hat!   Better check with her though to be sure as I may have misunderstood whilst slightly (only very slightly, of course) light-headed due, this time, to a fuity little red wine that I was drinking at the time . . .

here is the some pictures from my village.
we have nice home made breads in our village. most of the markets are selling them in North.

Looks like a particularly dull stag party.  ;)

Aren't women allowed in a meyhane ?

Ways of drinking RAKİ
raki is consumed with meze (a selection of appetisers or small dishes taken with alcohol); it is especially popular with white cheese and melon or fish. Raki is generally drunk mixed with cold water. Ice cubes may be added, preferably to diluted raki, since its anise may otherwise crystallize. When the water is added, the mixture turns a whitish colour, similar to the louche of absinthe. In addition to mixing raki with water in its own glass, it is customary to drink raki with a separate but complementary beverage. For the casual raki drinker, a glass of cold water is suitable. For the serious connoisseur of raki with kebab, a glass of şalgam stands as the best accompaniment to Lion's Milk. Sometimes raki is drunk with ayran (in a separate glass), which is said to prevent hangover.

Şalgam=Turnip juice .
Lion's Milk= How the local people called the RAKİ

You are rightly proud of your village.  Really looking forward to visiting the North in April.  Don't think I will try Raki as don't normally drink liqueurs although I do like a filfa.  Do people drink filfa in the North and retsina?  Haven't had a retsina yet.

Snoopy
That's an idea - changed my mind, I would like a retsina !

Snoopys area is still in the Stone age, so he will be very jealous of your lovely village.
