Tony Blair fuels EU presidency speculation
« on: January 13, 2008, 01:01:57 PM »
Well that would explain a lot wouldn't it? Gawd'elpus  ::)
I have thought for years that "Europe" was probably the worst thing this country ever got involved in but that at least we could blame "foreigners" for the mess ... if this sh*t gets the top job then we really are doomed to become a third world state tucked away in the corner. Blair's vanity and ego really are unbounded.

What would an EU president actually do? Anyone know? Anyone care?

Pick up mega bucks for presiding over the downhill slide of the UK whilst lying his head off about how much good he was doing for us ~ Blair would seem perfectly qualified.

Well I imagine he would have a few perks for starters, like an army and maybe a really neat uniform with a lot of braid and medals?

The last people to try for the position certainly did.

Hi Barman
'All the Poles are in the UK. . .  Gemany would have to invade there first now. . .  '

This reminds me . . .   We have a young Portuguese couple with a gorgeous toddler in the apartment opposite ours.   Normally we just exchange the usual pleasantries but just before Xmas the mum and I had a longer chat re Father Xmas etc.    She then said she loved talking to me as she wants to improve her English (wasn't bad but she was struggling at times and I had to mimic/find other words) but had trouble finding English people to talk with, as natually enough, most of her riends in London were Portuguese.   I suggested she tried the local Mother and Toddler Group but she quickly replied that she had been there twice and they were all Polish . . .

chuntering again
