Just had a quick google for squirrel deterrents and found this on the RSPB site...

Would a liberal dusting of evil strength chilli powder have a detrimental effect on your bulbs?

If he's anything like the cat I had as a kid set up a load of remote traps and give him the control. That squirrel wouldnt stand a chance  noooo:
