Just waiting to see if there is anything to the Keegan-Shearer rumours now  cloud9:

And as long as Sheppard can stop making an arse of himself then he should be able to do a decent job

I could be mistaken Bezza old boy but arent Sunderland currently further down the league than the Toon, in the bottom 3 actually?  whistle:

And apparently Keegan knew nothing about the appointment until the reporters told him.
Shades of Freddy Shepherd  methinks.

If we could get rid of that scrapyard dealing Arthur Daley the Toon would be a much better team I suspect.

Newcastle players stunned by Keegan's team talk

Newcastle United players were reportedly stunned by a simplistic team talk from new Magpies boss Kevin Keegan.
The News of the World carried a story that quoted a 'club insider', saying: "The players were waiting for Kevin to give his instructions but all he said was 'Arsenal are a great passing team. We must make sure we pass the ball better than them'.

"That was it. There were no specific tactics, no work on set pieces ... the players were stunned."

Keegan's men slid to a 3-0 defeat against Arsenal at the Emirates on Sunday, ending their hopes of trophy success this season."

And they've just given Dennis Wise a job.  lol:

Uncle Mort asked me what I thought of Keegan in another post quite a while ago - didn't reply as I have been off line - but it seems as if the discussion is well and truly underway.

I remember the last time Keegan was in charge. We wrote to him and got my mum an invite to Cathederal St James to meet him and the boys. We even got photos of us all on the pitch with him. Mum was about 70 at the time but he did offer her a 3 year contract.......

I guess we can look forward to some good old schoolboy end to end footie again. The only ray of hope was when he mentioned in one press report that a lot what happening at the club that he had no clue about......the ray of hope being that maybe he's been hired as a charismatic front man and will actually be backed by a proper management team who have read "Football tactics and strategies 101".........though given the Denis Wise appointment, that seems unlikely too......

Oh well, bridesmaids again......
