I suppose the villan was a villan by today's standards. However, I prefer my villans a little more cartoon like with excellent one liners.

In short I thought the villan was crap, there was a lack of  ;) ;) nudgery, no gadgets, no funny stuff.

Like I said, good action film but hardly vintage Bond.

He, he, he, excellent Wenchy Galore, I could easily find a position for you on my staff, but first you must put these nuclear cyber-crabs in Mr Bonds swimming trunks.

That Miss Fields was a quick shag. Tries to arrest Bond, whizzed off to a hotel, gets licked into shape and then the next time we see her she is dead!

And before anyone says I might be giving the plot away, I can't. There isn't a plot  noooo:

We thought it was a good action film but some what lacking for a Bond.

I suspect that the reason it is lacking for a Bond movie is that unlike the previous ones both Quantum of Solace and Casino Royale have been made more like Fleming's Bond as opposed to the Hollywoodised version.

Which is fine and I understand the reasons for doing it. They are stripping back and trying to get at the root of Bond and as you say make it more like the books. But for me the Bond genre had transcended the books and become an entity in their own right. And I'm sad that that now seems to be over.

I think there are enough action films as it is without having to have to add Bond to that genre too. It was like a Bourne film which I also enjoy but I won't be wasting money at the cinema in future I will wait for a dvd release.

I have a feeling that the Bourne films are about to go downhill now as they are making the fourth one. Ludlum only wrote the original trilogy, the rest of the books were done by Eric Van Lustbader.

My objection is that it is edited so fast that it is virtually incoherent.

So nothing made any sense Nick? Surely between that and the explosions it would have been like a normal day for you?  whistle:

It looks to me like they cut a lot out and decided to leave in the chases and explosions. In consequence it is sometimes hard to know what country they are in, or why  rubschin:

e.g. Plane takes off in, I thnk, Bolivia, or maybe Haiti. Bond charters a jet to follow and theny they are all in Austria.

Everyone goes back to Bolivia after they chat to each other. Would have been easier to use the phone!

I saw a clip on the TV. A bit of car chase and an altercation with a lorry. It jumped about so much I couldn't tell which car Bond was in.
