But then that's the thing with tragedies, they are always avoidable but tragically weren't

That story is oft told by those that like to find fault in THAT film (the Winslet norks one) but it turns out James Cameron knew his stuff as the 4th funnel was used to vent from the kitchen ovens and so did produce some smoke.
