A mate of mine had a cat which befriended some neighbours in the next street. It used to go round for second breakfast and second dinner and to make itself comfy in various warm corners. They eventually decided it was their cat and when it became ill, took it to a vet where it was put down.

My mate Bob only discovered this when his kids plastered the "Missing Cat" posters  all over the area
