I found the bomb that my Mum described in great detail...



She hated the shelter so stayed in the house during raids...

She said that she had some milk on the stove in the kitchen.... she heard a noise that she thought was the milk boiling over and went to attend it...

It was in fact the bomb that fell across the road - it blew in all the French windows and caused a great deal of damage...

She must have told me that story a hundred times yet sadly I don't know the date and there is no more information on the site...

There was an army base across the road where she worked servicing trucks - she always said that was the target but the area doesn't appear to have been badly hit....
