Last evening just as the setting sun was about to fall into the sea I looked up from my garden and saw these plane vapour trails. Wonder what strange weather/wind conditions up there caused this effect?
There is a conspiracy theory thread over on the Cyprus forum that believes the government is spraying chemicals down on us...

I don't think so, these trails are flights coming over Ireland on their way to UK and beyond. We watch them often but last evening the upper atmosphere seemed to distort them in a, what to us at least, was an unusual way. I watched it happening, started as a normal vapour trail (you can see others in the picture) and quite quickly it spread out to the shape in the main part of the pic. Very odd. Prolly summat to do with the winds up that high.
