As anyone who has ever sold clocks and watches will tell you the hands should always be set at 10 past 10 and the timepiece should never be displayed working.
Having managed a jewellers shop (F Hinds Ltd in Southampton) I can assure you that if you don't display the time as shown above there is always some cvnt who will come in to buy a watch and when the assistant says "Any particular one?" the aforementioned cvnt will reply "The one that's right".
