I was doing some work for Astrium working on the test software for amplifiers for Inmarsat 4. These things were hand built and tuned by adjusting gold pads with tweezers and then re-testing - incredibly time consuming and expensive.

Anyhoo... They loaded all of these things into a vacuum chamber for testing prior to final assembly and launch. The chamber broke and filled itself with cooling water destroying about a years worth of assembly time and putting back the launch. Lots of jokes about soak testing etc.  lol:

Fortunately I was not on site that day and it was nothing to do with me...  angel1
