A BBC 5Live presenter from Liverpool has had a gun pointed at her while filming a TV documentary in Croxteth. Shelagh Fogarty was filming for an ITV Tonight with Trevor McDonald special to be aired on Monday. She had been asked to return to the area she grew up in to see how safe she felt walking around after dark. Her crew was threatened by teenagers armed with glass bottles and stones in Norris Green on Friday, before seeing a gunman in Croxteth the following night. 'Pockets of violence' She said: "A car with blacked out windows pulled up alongside us, out from the passenger window comes an arm with a gun attached to it, I could clearly see the viewfinder light on the gun." "I didn't think any city in this country was Disneyland before I did this piece, but I was quite shocked at the level of aggression and the pockets of violence in some areas." The crew were filming in the Croxteth and Norris Green areas on Friday and Saturday night - the same area where 11-year-old Rhys Jones was shot dead last year. Merseyside police are investigating the incident and have found the vehicle they believe was used. A spokesperson said: "This is a serious incident and we're taking every possible step to find the offenders and recover the weapon."
Ok let me get this straight, a news presenter takes a camera crew to roam around an area of Liverpool that is infamous for gun crime to see how safe she feels now compared to when she grew up there and surprise surprise someone points a gun at her. For crying out loud what did you think was going to happen at night in Croxteth QuoteA BBC 5Live presenter from Liverpool has had a gun pointed at her while filming a TV documentary in Croxteth.
