Nothing 'seriously' wrong but you just feel a bit 'bored, bored, bored, bored' and question the meaning of being here - eh?

How to get over it, small treats work - nothing radically life or finance changing (unless you are BM of course who I swear is going to bankrupt me one of these fine days with his toy fetish) but try something such as :-

Buy yourself a REALLY nice bottle of wine and savor and enjoy (you don't have to share as its you that needs cheering up!)
Book yourself in for a massage (yes I am being serious) at a reputable parlour (not miss whiplash I hasten to add) and enjoy some calming physical non sexual healing
Come on the VP and find out how much you are really cared about - did that work?
Get on a plane and come visit BM in CY - oh my goodness what did I just say  eeek:

The trouble with depression is that doing that 'something' is very difficult. Although you might rail at the tedium of life and wish things would change depression acts as a 'blanket' stopping you from taking or making opportunities.

As you can guess I too suffer from depression and have had treatment in the past. I stopped taking the pills because they made me feel detached and emotionless.

I don’t have an answer, I try to enjoy the good days and endure the bad.

Uncle Mort has hit the nail fair and square. Valium is some help with very bad days but yes it does leave me feeling very detatched.


The Reggie Perrin method often seems like a good idea .... but I did the reinvention bit 20 years ago and have ended up in the same place ~ as did Reggie I recall.

Like many, been there, done that. And like Uncle Mort, I don't know the answer either, but Uncle Mort's "enjoy the good days and endure the bad" isn't a bad maxim (apologies if that sounds trite)

Nick,

sorry you are feeling so low at the moment. Routine is awful in many ways but also quite reassuring in others - as long as you  have the ability and desire to change things around , as and when needed and the willpower to see it through.

I am taking a week off from 'my routine' this week. The intention was to rest , relax and enjoy as I was getting quite stressed out with work and a pre- adolescent attitudal child  evil:

My daughter is with her father this week and I am meant to be taking it easy. So far I have decorated the living room (painted and wallpapered), put up new light fittings, completed 2 reports for work which I know I will need by next week, cooked for 6 of my friends (amidst the chaos of decorating) and today is only Thursday. The week is nearly gone and I am feeling no more chilled out now from my routine as I was last week. I am my own worst enemy  cry:
