Half Time England/Ireland and the best match of the series so far.

Well done England ..... back from the dead but still a looooooooooong way to go.

NO GOS I don't think the Rugby has been of the standard we have grown used to from any of the teams. It has nothing to do with who you support and everything to do with the game, which has, in general, been poor. The Southern Hemisphere sides must be licking their lips at the prospect. Northern Hemisphere Rugby has failed to progress and has IMHO gone backward.
In England's case to be expected after winning the World Cup then being runners up, I suppose, that the teams had to rebuild with younger players but I don't think the England head coach has quite got what it takes to build a new world beating team. Rob Andrew might but he is a very bright man who recognises a poisoned chalice when he sees one.

The pundits were wetting themselves with excitement about the new boy and saviour of English rugby, Cipprianni. It would seem that those team with new managers have done well this year. maybe it is time for England and Ireland to employ a manager from the southern hemisphere? The treatment by Ashton of Wilkinson was well out of order, but I suppose he needed a scapegoat.  confused:

Like Snoopy said, Southern hemisphere rugby is streets ahead of our game, far faster, far more skilled, you only have to watch the Super 14's to see that. Super 14's has players like Cipriani left right and centre

I remember seeing Cipriana play a few games for Wasps a few months ago, he was somethging special then, and I reckon he will be for many years to come. He has had his mad moments but that's down to lack of experience, luckily with a coach like Shaun Edwards in charge he will learn (that's if Edwards doesn't jump ship from Wasps if the right offer comes along)

Hats off to the Welsh Head Coach who has managed to drill them into playing a spoiling game. I was surprised the French didn't cut up really nasty (they have shown themselves capable of it in the past) with the tactics deployed against them and that seems to be the theme of this year's tournament. The Welsh have played every match in the same way and it is not in the spirit of the game.  Fair Play to Them (as they like to say in the valleys) they have found a way to win but it will not last and the Kiwis etc will tear them to pieces. Meanwhile the English may be rebuilding but they didn't do too badly ~ coming second in the whole tournament.
I thought the Italians have come a long way in a few years ... give them a couple more and they'll be a force to reckon with.
