Kempton 3.15 - Ungaro.

If that comes in too, I doubt I will care too much about the rugby!

Irritatingly, my horse didn't win. Doubly irritating, Mrs TMR backed it and is now forty quid up and gloating. Beers on her then. "Kicks for free" in the 4.50 and "Dee em Williams" in the 5.15.

rubschin: Well a Welsh win was not unexpected. I still don't see them as a "good" team. Not a patch on the Welsh greats of the past. I can't put my finger on it, perhaps it's a matter that they are marginally better and luckier than their opponents this year so far but somehow I just can't see them as World Class.
Henson ~ God knows why they persist with him flapping about on the fringes, scared to take a tackle
Shanklin ~ Too quick to blame the passer every time he fumbles a ball... never his fault attitude
Hook ~ needs to get the right studs on his boots, slips over too much
I could go on but what's the point ...... they are not great players, any of them..
As for the crowd ~ Booing when someone from the opposite side is taking a penalty is NOT in the spirit of the game but so typically Welsh.
Pity 'cos I don't really care who wins as long as it's a good game and that wasn't ~ unless you're Welsh I s'pose.

I look forward to the Irish taking them apart and the French wiping their arses with 'em.

Well said Snoops. Go on the spud munchers - the bar manageress is a Scotchwoman and taken a pint bet that they will win.

And they won't.

"Kicks for free" came in at 3-1. Hoorah! Might go on the G+Ts now...

Well the Micks did it in some style ..... pity they took their foot of the pedal for a while in the second half but they got a good result. What has happened to Scottish Rugby over the years?

And now time to make a cuppa and get ready for the BIG one.

Corking. Did I tell you I am on speaking terms with Brian?

My prediction of England by three was out, but I care not.

And you and Barman owe me an apology! Faithless fools!

I even had Arsenal down for a draw today.

Chelsea to win 2-1 tomorrow. I have twenty on that, too.

Anyhoooo.

After about fourteen pints of Young's, it is time to hit the enviable sack with Mrs TMR (to be). Goodnight all.

Are you really?
It occured to me listening to him yesterday that his passion for the game is so strong. I wonder if he lives his life in such a rage of emotions or is it all reserved for Rugby. He is, I understand, a solicitor. I couldn't help but think I perhaps would not want him representing me in court if he would fly off into one of his rants against the referee (or in this case magistrate).

cussing: At one stage he got so wound up he described something as "Absolute Crap". He was quite right but normally such language would have him off air within seconds ... but the BBC keep him going ~ presumably because they too recognise the passion that his admirers see.
