Wind Farms Disrupt Radar
« on: February 04, 2008, 01:17:48 PM »
Can’t find a link for this but it was on forces radio earlier…

Apparently the MoD is objecting to wind farms being built because they confuse the air-defence radar.  noooo:

How long before Russia brings out a new fleet of bombers with HUGE propellers?  rubschin:

I think its the speed of the propellers that is causing the problem. Unfortunately they would be too slow to get them off the ground old boy.

Well perhaps now the Government will get off this particular band wagon (which was never going to be the answer anyway), bite the bullet and commit to solving the problem in a sensible fashion by spending the money on nuclear power. No matter what the "Greens" may say there is actually no other answer.

Of course it won't work if there is too little wind ... nor if there is too much wind. Like Goldilocks' porridge it has to be "Just right". Utter nonsense.
I can see a wind farm from my back window, sat out there three miles off shore. More often than not it is in lock down mode because there is too strong a breeze. ::)
And where does our leccy come from when this marvel of green engineering, that cost more to build than it will recover in its 30 year anticipated lifespan, is not working? From a nuclear plant on Anglesey.

An irradiated Anglesey - an attractive idea.

Funny how it comes up if you type it in. He is though. And a Scottish Alien at that. Two shots to the hearts!
