The comment below to this new article nearly made me fall off my seat laughing this morning!!!

"Why doesn't the government just get rid of all social housing and put people in concentration camps instead. A much better idea.

I don't often agree with a politician but sadly it's probably true!

Although I am liking the sound of feral youth concentration camps!  rubschin:

Given that local authorities have a legal duty to house homeless families this stupid woman has clearly not thought her "policy" through.

"Zo ... You vill not work .... No excuses, ve do not care if you are a cripple and cannot work, ve do not even care that there are not enough job vacancies to go round, you and your family must be evicted ...........
Vot do you mean vere should you live? ..... In a bed and breakfast hotel of course"

Oh yes that makes a lot of sense Minister. So "on message" that she is vanishing up her own arse trying to get headlines and please Gordon.

this minister is just trying to make an impact, in a few years when the whole idea is scrapped she'll be in another position

One hopes she was being sarcastic. But you never can tell these days.

Either sarcastic or a Daily Mail reader from the sounds of it.

Another poorly thought out headline-grabbing gimmick. Five years ago the same government were proposing to end homelessness and get families out of B&Bs, now they want to turf them out again.

Pathetic isn’t it…

No job >>> evicted from council house >>> down the council as homeless >>> given council house >>> no job, etc.
