Having both been married before we agreed that Anniversary celebrations were not for us. The fact that we were still together would, we felt, be sufficient demonstration of any commitment without the need to line the pockets of Hallmark Cards. If an anniversary ever came round and we were not together then all those annual protestations of devotion would mean fvck all anyway (as they had proved previously)
Twenty years this June without ever exchanging cards or presents on the anniversary so we must have got something right.
