Giving things up for lent
« on: February 07, 2008, 09:11:52 AM »
So do we have any partakers??????

I have been coerced into giving up bread for 40 days ......in the name of charity of course.

But I will make my aplogies now - I love the stuff - and so will be going through a painful withdrawal in the next few days and will be ratty as hell. I am sure you will notice the difference  sad24:

It begs the question, WHY?

You get this drummed into you as being a good thing to do.
Why is self-denial a good thing?

Because I have no willpower - if I didn't have a 'reason' for doing this i.e a charity benefiting-  I would give at the 1st mealtime.
Far better than attempting to run a Marathon or any other similar ordeal.

Do I need to be  scared2: lol:

I am who I am - flaws an all - don't particularly want to change anything in that respect.
