There was a great new story some years ago about  Turkish squaddy assigned to guard four Mirage fighters which had stopped in Turkey en route to the Middle East.

Getting bored he swung on the long pointy bit at the front of one of the fighters and bent it.

To avoid detection he swung on the other three to make them look the same.

Damage? £8 million, if I recall correctly.
