Just been looking at the list of programs affected by SP1, anyone else notice a theme here:

BitDefender AV
Fujitsu Shock Sensor
Jiangmin KV Antivirus 10
Jiangmin KV Antivirus 2008
Trend Micro Internet Security
Zone Alarm Security Suite
Iron Speed Designer
Xheo Licensing
Free Allegiance
NYT Reader
Rising Personal Firewall
Novell ZCM Agent

So internet security, firewall and antivirus programs are hit. Wonder if that is just coincidence or do Microsoft want their users running their security sofrware  rubschin:

There is a lot of software that won't run if you install SP1 - MS have a list somewhere. There are some benefits, such as slightly quicker file transfer but overall Vista is still a crock of crap. Corporates are still avoiding it and trying to stay with XP.
Still I probably won't be having to face this problem soon.

I seem to remember a similar problem with the early version of SP2 for XP.

SP2 was huge - how big is the Vi$ta SP1?

I've heard about 600Mb so you will have to crank up the laggy band internet connection.

bugger that, do it the easy way and just grab a computing magazine when it gives it as a cover disk.

Microsoft went trhough a phase of not allowing mags to publish thier s/ware on cd/dvd - PCPro use to have all the SPs and all the other bits and pieces from MS but then were blocked.
