Quick question (hopefully)
« on: February 29, 2008, 05:22:58 PM »
Can anyone tell me why I'm eating absolutely shed-loads and weight is falling off me at an alarming rate? I feel fine, if slightly tired most days.

Not tapeworm - no segments in my stools. Can you define what you mean by "taboo"? A fondness of real ale?

There are many possible causes, none of which would justify not visiting your doctor.

Get on with it man!

Sorry DS and Berek - won't do it. I will not listen to the inane ramblings of a Quacksalve. I trust you lot (rightly or wrongly) a damn sight more.

Barman - a bike like mine would scare the purple piss out of you and you would probably lose your eyebrows - although it might match your head.

DS - you can have my Tangleberries!

Now, any serious ideas? Anybody? Anybody? Bueller?

:-)

TMR .... I am not p*ssing about here.

Get to your doctor .... what you are describing is the classic onset of Type 2 diabetes. Those are exactly the symptoms I had when diagnosed two and a half years ago and it was those symptoms that I was happy to ignore until the GP spotted them. In fact I was quite pleased at losing weight.

Get it sorted now or you could be looking at Heart Attacks, Amputations of toes/feet/legs due to gangrene caused by thrombosis etc. No joking mate. Forget your fear/dislike of Doctors and get your arse down there NOW!

What he siad. Could be any other thing that affects your metabolic rate (like over-active thyroid) or worse. Blood tests will sort it out quickly. Worrying about it will not help!!
