I love this!

LONDON (Reuters) - The government aims to speed up cumbersome planning decisions on major infrastructure projects, including nuclear power stations and wind farms, to fight global warming and boost the economy.
LinkThis paves the way for your neighbours to have a wind-generator on their roof to fight global warming ? and you?ll be able to do nothing about it.
Once again this government dresses up legislation to save the environment and because: -
Local people find that an incredibly difficult system to manage
What a load of bollocks! Why can?t they just be honest about this for once in their festering ten years of farcical money grabbing dishonest lying cheating rule?
I personally believe there is some merit in the government taking difficult planning decisions if they are in line with their manifesto. For instance, if the government commits to nuclear power and the people see fit to vote them in on the back of it then they should be able to make decisions about building them without spending the next ten years on a public enquiry.
The system is farcical at the moment anyway ? everybody knows that the T5 enquiry was a foregone conclusion ? they started the earthworks before it was even half way though ? it was just a show enquiry. Far from the locals (who didn?t want it) finding the system ?difficult to manage? they begrudged the huge expense when it was clear that their opinion simply didn?t matter.
But, don?t steamroller legislation through parliament on the basis that it will be good for everybody if that clearly isn?t the case.
