Bet this made Gordon's porridge hard to swallow this morning

Poll shows Labour at a twentyfive year low. On the basis of this poll the Conservatives would win by a landslide.

But would it help us? .... Somehow I don't think so.
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

What worries me is the lack of choice, it's either labour or the cons. scared2:

The problem is that we have a public completely jaded by the utter incompetence and arguable corruption of this government as well as the 'family man' image of the tories.

We desparately need an effective alternative that can give the public back its confidence in the office. I'd like to say Lib Dem but we all know that if they were ever elected they'd have heart failure. They have the luxury of being able to propose really grand policies as they know they'll never get in.

One of the problems for any opposition is that the public have swallowed this climate change nonsense hook, line and sinker. Therefore any opposition is severely constrained in what it can do to re-invigorate the economy…  ::)

That depends, with the emphasis on air travel being one of the main polluters that could mean that sea travel takes off again. If that is the case then the North East has a huge ship building heritage and its about time that those remaining yards were brought back to life again.

Or industries could be incentivezed to move to the UK and develop 'environemtnally friendly' technology. Hybrid cars are a reality now so why not have research and production here. Ah yes I know why, because if they take off then the government would be lynched soon afterwards as it would be clear there was no need to send troops to Iraq.

That's the problem... they've closed down all the industry - UK makes fuck-all now... I remember when I was... um 19 or something visiting shipyards all round the country for my job... all closed now. Even the Queen Mary was made in France for cod's sake...  Banghead

And Hybrid cars are shite too.  cussing:
