Bloody Earworm
« on: March 18, 2008, 08:29:34 AM »
All night I have been waking on and off with the old Lionel Bart "Fings ain't what the used to be" going round in my head.
Max Bygraves had a big hit with it you'll all (well the older ones of you will ) recall. The song came from a show of, I think, the same name.
In particular I have been irked by the bit that goes:

"It used to be fun, Dad and old mum, paddling down Sarfend,
But now it ain't done, XXXXXX is where we spend our ZZZZZZZ"

AND I cannot remember where XXXXXX was (Paris would fit but so would Bournemouth) and ZZZZZZ ~ was that "holidays" or "weekends"?

Yes I could Google the lyrics but where would be the fun in that. This way you can all be infected  eveilgrin:
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

I have Jane and Michael's nanny list from Mary Poppins in my head.

 Banghead

If you want this choice position, have a cheery disposition. Rosy cheeks, no warts...
Play games all sorts.
You must be kind, you must be witty;
Very sweet and fairly pretty...
Take us on outings, give us treats.
Sing songs, bring sweets.
Never be cross or cruel,
never feed us castor oil, or gruel.
Love us as a son and daughter, and never smell of barley water...
If you won't scold and dominate us, we will never give you cause to hate us.
We won't hide your spectacles so you can't see, put toads in your bed, or pepper in your tea.
Hurry, Nanny! Many thanks! Sincerely...
Jane and Michael, Banks

 Banghead

All the way to work, round and round and round

Bloody pub's filling up with bloody kids again. Banish them to the garden BM with a bottle of pop, a straw and a packet of crisps ..... with any luck they'll either choke on a crisp or fall off the swings and break their necks.  evil:

I had no tunes going around in my head until I went on a rugby site a while ago, read about a player, Joe Walsh. Ever since I've got "Life's Been Good" going around in there

out of a mix of curiosity and childhood nostalgia I watched the new Knight Rider pilot last night and realised 2 things:

1. I REALLY REALLY REALLY want a black Shelby Cobra  cloud9:

2. I now cant get the sodding Knight Rider theme out of my head  Banghead
