That bastard Pastis ate him
Sir Alec Bedser, who died yesterday at the age of 91, was paid the ultimate tribute by the late Sir Donald Bradman who said the England and Surrey bowler "probably worried me more than any other Englishman".The fast bowler made his Surrey debut in 1939 and retired from the game in 1960 after taking 236 wickets in 51 Tests and later served a 12-year term as England's chairman of selectors until 1981. He was knighted for his services to cricket in 1996.
