My stepdad ...not nine weeks after my mum.

Died this morning - rushed to hospital.

Both of them gone - Miss D is inconsolable today

I have always thought that the worst thing about drowning was having to call 'help!' You must look such a fool. It's put me against drowning.

How awful, poor you.

As always, there are no words that really help, just be assured we are all thinking of your sadness and wishing we could help.

So sorry, very hard on you so soon after your Mum.  Thinking of you.
It's better than I ever even knew.  They say that the world was built for two.  Only worth living if somebody is loving you.  Baby now you do.

George Shearing, yesterday aged 91.

Quote
He was appointed OBE in 1996. In 2007 he was knighted. "So," he noted later, "the poor, blind kid from Battersea became Sir George Shearing. Now that's a fairy tale come true."
