Big Sis and her husband are up in Yorkshire. They went to help out after her sister in law's heart op. SiL died on the operating table, however,  so they stayed on for the inquest and the funeral.  At the funeral yesterday her Bil had a heart attack and is now in "critical" condition  noooo:

I listened to Last Word yesterday, they did a lovely obit on him IMO.  Sad loss to the public and musicians alike.

Memory tells me the Douglas Jardine was actually born in India where his father was in the Diplomatic Service ........ but perhaps his parent(s) were Scottish.
Never the less he was a quintessential Englishman.
