Oh yes ~ your throw away line designed to confuse.  ::)

Anyway I am listening to TMS and this is the first time since he died that I have listened to the cricket ~ it isn't the same without him.

Blossom Dearie: Missed in the hubbub of last week's Grammys was the loss of one of the sweetest voices in the jazz world (or any other); the singer died in her sleep at 82. For those who aren't familiar, think back to "Figure Eight" or "Unpack Your Adjectives" from the "Schoolhouse Rock" cartoons. Who else could've made multiplication tables sound as lovely and smooth?

I suspect that Pastis will appreciate her as I did. ~ Her music lives on.

Indeed.  I heard this on Saturday afternoon which reminded me.

Quote
Satin Doll (Ellington, Strayhorn, Mercer) (5:00)
Performed by Blossom Dearie (v) Jeff Clyne (b) Johnny Butts (d)
Recorded London, 1966
Taken from the album Blossom Drearie at Ronnie Scott’s Club London
(Redial 5586832 Track 10)

I could never believe Blossom Dearie was her real name but in fact it was.

Goodbye Lux. This lot were (partially) responsible for me failing my Geography A-Level. Worth it though...

Philip Jose Farmer

One of the 'greats' of Science Fiction.  cry:

I loved his "World of Tiers" series and of couse "Riverworld" - That's where I'd like to go after dying. If there's a God that's where PJF should be now.

I loved the 'Riverworld' books.

Its ok 'Imagining' a world where the the whole human race is re-born, but then creating an express train storyline that involves everyone who as ever lived trying to find out WTF is going on and make it work is something else entirely.

Your tour guides for the riverworld are :

Richard Francis Burton
Samuel Clemens
King John
The red barons brother
Eric Bloodaxe

And a cast of Billions! (including YOU)  cloud9:
