The furthest back I have got with ancestors is 1547 when my umpteen times great grandfather was born in Winterbourne Earls, Wiltshire. 400 years before me in 1947.

Yup ~ he died at the age of 95 which was very unusual back then, most people died in their 40s. Mind he was wealthy and connected in some way with the Church. Given the history of the times he must have shown some pretty nifty footwork religion wise.
