Thanks JOM, this one has really got to us, helps to know others understand

We found her Saturday morning paralysed from the waist down, desperately trying to walk and screaming in pain - as distressing a sight as I've seen for a long time.  Thought at first she’d been hit by a car but X rays showed no damage.  She had shown signs of getting some slight recovery as they treated her with clot busters, she wasn’t incontinent and I started looking at cat wheel chairs and wondering whether that’d be fair on her but then the call came this morning.

Not really. Vet was having to guess it was an embolism and that would be consistent with her sudden death overnight.
