John Mayall, 90.  cry:

Listening to his music lead me to finding the blues. John Lee Hooker, Buddy Guy, BB King, Sonny Boy Williamson I and II, Muddy waters. So many artists who's music I might never have discovered a love for if not for him. Rest in peace Slowhand, you'll be missed.

The universe is run by the complex interweaving of three elements. Energy, matter, and enlightened self-interest.

A huge game changer but someone who could never hold onto talent and argued with most of them.  IIRC he didn't pay them well.  Jack Bruce, Clapton, Jeff Beck, Fleetwood and Mc and in session Jimmy Page plus many many others.

Without Mayall the still enduring blues based rock phenomenon might never have happened

RIP

My ex father-in-law last night.

A release, he was suffering from alzheimer's and was paralysed after a fall last month.

Sad though, he was a great bloke.
