I won't bother putting this one in the bingo thread as we already have 85

I see that John Mortimer the writer of Rumpole of the Bailey has passed away

Rumpole use to be one of my favourite programmes years ago, the nearest we get to it these days is Judge John Deed
LiFe - It's an "F" in lie

Rumpole ~ a great invention (was he entirely fictional?) I have long enjoyed John Mortimer, still we all have to go sometime and at least he has left much memorable reading to be re-enjoyed over the coming months.

Strangely one of the yummy mummies in whose company I have spent the afternoon knows/knew him. She worked with him on a number of occasions and says that there is no way is/was he gay (I made a similar comment to yours). She is, she says, in a position to state categorically that he is/was not gay. I raised an eyebrow or two  eyes: at that and she blushed.

If he was after 'yummy mummies' when in his 80's he had either forgotten what he liked or found modern shirts too heavy to lift.
