Just found out 2 of our friends were buried today........ eeek:  separate events...... noooo:

You remember old Ken from Pambis ..

and Judy ....drunk Al's sister .... eeek:

Prolly know their faces.......didn't know Alchester had a sister.  noooo:

Yeh she used to live here ,,husband died 2 years,ago,she went back to UK to live...she came back 3 weeks ago to sort out house etc (we met her for a drink ) week later gone ... eeek: only about 57-ish.....

so very sad, we were stunned. However, they each lost their partners within the last few years, we can only take a kind of comfort in the fact that they no longer have the heartache of missing their wife/husband. I'm not at all religious, but Ken would still come and sit in the pub on his own without Pearl and it was never right not to see them together, same with Judy. Maybe now they are together...if not, their heartbreak of loss is over and I like to think they are at peace together. Bless them. Wonderful people I am happy to have known. X X

I did think it was poignant that she spent over 95 years devoted to the fiance who was killed in WW1.  And then inspiring that she was still living in her own home until her very last weeks
