Just wow!Ms Raccoon has just returned from the hospital. Ten months ago they thought I had 'two months at best' - at that point you are formally designated 'terminally ill'; that in itself opens all sorts of doors, and not just that of the local funeral parlour, but in terms of drug trials. Thus, since June I have bene taking a drug called Letrozole, which has had great success with some of the breast cancers, but was an unknown quantity in terms of the cancer I have. I have to say, it is like being run over by a bus - the side effects are legion, and occupy three pieces of A4 paper. I was more than ready to quit after the first three month scan, but was persuaded to hang on a bit longer on the grounds that it hadn't had long enough to take effect.I did. Today I got the results. Its only bloody worked! No new tumours, no growth on any of the existing tumours. It's not technically remission, since it is only designed to prevent further growth rather than actually cure me - but given that this is the third bout of this cancer, I'm pretty stunned. Not only that, but I got home just in time to pick up a call from Cameron that I wrote about a few days ago. He was in court today to answer his charge of 'violent behaviour' following him giving the police a piece of his mind regarding 'false allegations' when they finally decided that he was not the 'alleged paedophile' in their cctv. He spent all day hanging around court, cheered and supported by one of the commentators here, who shall be nameless (and grateful thanks to him from Cameron and me). Three times the court room was changed as the day dragged on with no explanation, until finally they were called in - to be told that the police did not want to proceed with the prosecution! So, much celebration in the Cameron ranks tonight.....we never give in!Drinks are on me tonight - and see you all next week. Not a good new year for old rockers. Today Dale Griffin (Mott the Hoople) and Glen Frey from the Eagles.
