He sort of reminds me of me, but I would never drive a Skoda,

Badge snob.  ::) You ever driven one, and I'm not talking Estelle here?

Sorry Growler, I only drive a Lexus. With over tinted glass. Makes me look like a gangster, innit.

My old friend up the road with all the classic motorcycles drives a Skoda - a vRS thing. Not a bad bit of kit at all.

But I drive a car to get from A to B. My old bus is entirely devoid of character or passion and the three litre engine sucks too much unleaded. But it is sooooo boring. Comfy, never go wrong and a great stereo.

When I want thrills, the GSXR750 comes out...and my limited brain melts.

Man denies level crossing death

I'd forgotten about this.

It's a shame the train that ran the woman over didn't have the infamously slow 'wheels of justice' fitted. She could have got clear.  confused:

Not Guilty

Fair enough. I found this interesting though:

CCTV of rail death woman

It's amazing how many CCTV images of a random member of the public can be found if need be.

I've been to our CCTV centre which has got literally hundreds of cameras and it is amazing how much detail you can get from them - although why that never transpires on news footage when they are showing a suspect I'll never understand.

It's great entertainment to sit there for a few hours and watch the world at its worst and follow any characters of interest  whistle:

Having been involved in the tendering for and subsequent operation of many such systems in several Town Centres, large arenas and industrial/commercial/business parks I could bore the arse off you with a long explanation as to why you do not see more of this on TV but in simple terms a CCTV system is only a tool, one of many in the law enforcement armoury. Data Protection and Publishing Images without permission come into it but the most important reason the public do not get to see more of these immages is contained in what are known as "Judges Rules" rendering any images so used inadmissable as evidence in any later court cases/appeals etc.
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

And yet, how come when any felon round here is supposedly caught on CCTV there's insufficient evidence to confirm an ID?  ::)
