Me bruv has just phoned. Following a lovely jaunt to Las Vegas for his wife's 40th, he returned to work on Monday and "did his back" just putting his briefcase/laptop into the car. Silly sod. He is currently prostrate at home taking large amounts of morphine. And smoking. He sounds high as a kite.

It looks like he will need another operation - he's already had two discs removed, so with another one to come out, he might end up the same height as me after all these years.  ;D

Thanks Nick. He has the same specilist who operated on the previous occasions, so he's not too worried. I doubt he will be playing bowls for a while, though.

TMO pls send on my sympathy to your bruv - have had 'back issues' for years resulting in many nights lost sleep.
Had an orthopaedic consult here recently (x-rays the lot) and advised :-

''Ah no cartilage between the vertebrae (sad shaking of head on Doc's part when delivering this news) so no wonder it hurts you, probably osteoarthritis, got drugs for that though.......... Ah neck doesn't look too good either, major accident years ago perhaps ( ::) many  ::)) should bend this way and doesn't''

This consult was just before I left for daughters hen weekend and pole dancing - still did it though  cloud9:
