I only stopped 'cos of heart. They made it a condition of treatment .... not that the subsequent bypass worked  Angry9:

I would start again but for Minimus and his asthma. Wouldn't be fair.

Anyway I've been off them for 12 years now and I really don't see putting all that tax money into the Treasury Coffers!

I hadn't bought them in the UK for a good few years anyway. And with the amount of travel that my Brother and his Girlfriend do I wouldn't have to now either.  cloud9:

Strangely, the asthma I suffered when younger pretty much vanished when I started smoking. Most odd.  rubschin:

I do recall people (actors prolly) dressed in white coats, with stethescopes hanging round their necks to make them look like doctors, advertising certain brands "For Asthma Sufferers"

Smoking must be good, as it cures Herrings

 drumroll:

My brother started smoking at the age of 35 and he's not had an epileptic fit since  rubschin: My dad died in 1992 after smoking 40-60 a day for forty years. The autopsy revealed his lungs to be "absolutely fine"  rubschin:

Well that's 50 odd years of research disproven then.  ;)

I have never, ever smoked, not even a single puff.

What's it like?

My Dad was the same. Yes he died of cancer but his lungs weren't touched.

My granddad smoked all his life. Died of cancer of the ear when he was 85. Do you suppose it was putting the tab ends behing his lughole that did it?
