About three inches of it in Surrey this morning. Seems I won't be going on the back of a Vincent Black Shadow down to Maidstone.

It'll play havoc with the British Suoerbikes at Brands Hatch, too.

4" here. I've lived down here since 1989, I've never seen snow that deep down here before.

Your mention of the Vincent Black Shadow brought back memories. As a kid in the 70's I use to live next door to a motorbike cop. He had a 1958 (I think) VBS and a 1938 Harley that he restored. They looked like they'd just come out of the factory, beautiful machines, wonderful sounds

Lovely indeed. The bike belongs to my neighbour, who is 62. Even though he's a tough old boot, not even he fancies risking £25,000 worth of classic in this weather. He's looking at adding a BSA Gold Star to his collection soon - I wouldn't mind a go on it!

Way ahead of you there, Barman ;-)

Hopefully I will be taking twenty quid off him later too, if Shane Byrne wins both races at Brands Hatch (assuming it isn't cancelled). He's picked Leon Haslam as his rider for the season. Mad old fool!

We can see snow on the hills across the valley but none on the ground here.

I'm seriously thinkin' about contacting DCC with a view to starting up a mobile caf. up on the top. Could make a fortune, but no doubt the council will piss on me chips. ::)

Of course they will ..... The County has a cafe at the bottom (In Loggerheads) they will not want you taking their trade. Anway there is an ice-cream van some days in the summer and I have seen him "moved on"

Long range forecasters refused to rule out a repeat of last year's torrential rain, which caused widespread flooding. Nor would they rule out an extremely dry summer.


So there we have it. A really helpful forecast ey? ::)
