Family History
« on: April 10, 2008, 10:30:03 AM »
I have mentioned (often I am sure ::)) that I am interested in family history. I have just discovered that in 1903 an ancestor was committed to Broadmore for life after he took a hammer to his married sister and her daughter  eeek:
No explanation for his actions was offered and he remained in Broadmore until his death from diabetes in 1912.

Mrs Snoopy, when told of this said " rubschin:" and then added "I knew there was something odd about your family"

 eveilgrin: The patio beckons.
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

Lucky they didn't send him to Broadmoor instead.

That place is full of nutters.
I mostly despair

There was a thing on the wireless this morning complaining that if you typed ‘suicide’ or ‘I want to kill myself’ into an Intermong search engine the first results were details of how to do it rather than links to The Samaritans or somebody else who might be able to talk you out of it…  noooo:

Some guy had done the research (at taxpayer’s expense prolly) and came up with all sorts of clever ways to ‘solve’ the problem when the interviewer asked why The Samaritans didn’t simply just boost their profile on the search engines so they always came first…  point:

He wasn’t qualified to comment on that apparently…  Banghead

Its not that he wasnt qualified BM, its a cunning plan that he thinks would get the Samaritans to pay for him to research how they can improve their profile. If he answers the question for free it buggers up the whole idea.
