Pope v. Gordo
« on: April 16, 2008, 09:51:44 AM »
ANother PR shot to the head for Gordy as his visit to the US of A "coincides" with that of the erstwhile member of the Hitler Youth.

What does Popey have to say?

Quote
Before arriving the Pope told reporters on board his plane that he was "deeply ashamed" of sexual abuse by US clergy.

Pope Benedict, who was elected three years ago, vowed to work against a recurrence of the crisis, which tarnished the Church's reputation, saying "we will absolutely exclude paedophiles from the sacred ministry".

Well of course. And he goes on:

Quote
In recent years, the US Catholic Church, which has around 65 million followers, has paid $2bn (£1bn) to settle clergy sexual abuse cases.

Ah, I see!

My rithmatic makes that about £15 a head (so to speak)

This is the same caring Benny who still refuses to meet victims of the abuse or immediately order his cardinals, bishops et al to name all of the abuser priests that they have been moving from parish to parish in order to protect the church so that they can be defrocked, excommunicated and handed over to the police.
The universe is run by the complex interweaving of three elements. Energy, matter, and enlightened self-interest.
