You will recall that in the movie Psycho Norman Bates (Played by Anthony Perkins) dressed as his mother, whose corpse he had kept, to murder visitors to the motel.

So I deduce that Nick is asking "Is Mrs TG real or is the poster really you pretending to be your wife?"
