You utter, utter ba_tard, BM.

I have just read this thread, read your appraisal and fallen over the edge of the sofa laughing. Amazingly my Vodka & Tonic remained vertical.

Agreed. Avoiding it was harder work than normal this year.

Bastards! For every hour of show there was three hours of 'in depth analysis'.  cussing:

It is the BBC's version of Big Brother and nothing more...  noooo:

Just suspend your disbelief for a moment... ok?

About two months ago I was asked if I wanted to be on it  eeek:.  Helping out with their last task, apparently. I declined. I did think about it for a couple of minutes but thought that my  Banghead Banghead attitude when confronted with the contestants prolly wouldn't go down too well  ::)

Did I make the right decision? I'm fairly sure I did  rubschin:

Ok, you can reinstall your disbelief now.

Prolly a good decision ~ as I say I've avoided watching it but unless they were offering fantastic money I doubt the tongue biting would have been worth it.

Fantastic money  eeek:  This is the BBC and I ain't no star. I spoke to a colleague yesterday (the one who asked me initially) and we both know the companies who participated. I didn't watch it but he did and he mentioned there were panning shots showing the Co.s logos. I imagine, having been there before, there was no fee but "there'll be an audience of millions" etc etc.

If the Co.s concerned do well out of it then good for them, but I doubt it. Just flash in the pan stuff. Personally I'm not prepared to jump through their hoops for 5 minutes of "fame".

The show is televised humiliation – the modern day equivalent of the stocks.

I think the suppliers/designers, etc. have an opportunity to promote their business (and raise their eyebrows at the incompetence of the ‘contestants’) but I’d have to say that I can’t remember the names of any of them.

I reckon you did the right thing – especially if there was no ‘folding’ available…
