The pilot has no intention of ditching unless we are shot down. (He can't swim  redface:)

rubschin:  Shouldn't be too diffcult ~ we only have to follow the river like.

Can we ditch in it? I have my water wings.
Just bring your pyjamas…

Don’t try and ditch it in the Thames at Windsor tho – you’d never get a Lanc in down there ‘cos of the bridges and stuff…

Dump it in that fucking great rowing lake at Eton where they removed twenty trillion tonnes of hardcore before filling it all back in again…  Banghead

I'm sure Snoops could fly under bridges. I seen it on the telly. Admittedly that was Spitfire which is somewhat smaller but you never know till you try.

Surely it depends on the size of the bridge?  rubschin:

'Fraid not ~ one skill I never mastered I am ashamed to say. Not from want of trying but somehow it just never clicked with me. I have spent a fortune on my 5 kids trying to have them taught, both at school and privately but they seem to have the same problem. The eldest daughter managed to teach herself but not until she was in her mid twenties.

How odd!

Mr Wench isn't great either. Lots of splashing and not much floating. I can't remember not being able to swim! But then having your own pool probably helps with that.  redface:

I grew up playing in boats, both on the canal at Odiham and then on the "beach" in Southampton. I have fallen out of various dingies, row-boats and canoes over my childhood years and NEVER worn a life jacket. I just never got round to swimming. I like to think it is not so much a case of cannot swim but more a case of never having felt the need.

A friend of mine could not swim until the Zeebrugge incident. It ws quite remarkable how quickly he learnt, despite also being hammered drunk.

"Home to Windsor"!!!

Do you know Liz & Phil personally like?
Of course...  redface:

That's odd, I was having tea with Liz last Tuesday & she never mentioned you. Are they invited to the wedding or are you keeping it 'low key'
I couldn't ask for better friends. I could ask for more NORMAL friends, but not better ones.
