Do these morons never learn?
« on: May 19, 2008, 05:17:54 PM »
This guy tricks his way into some poor buggers house and then beats him to death with a hammer. The police find enough weapions in his home to show that he was ready to go on the rampage targetting police officers and as such the then Home Secretary gives him a whole life sentence. Now the morons in the appeals court have decided that he can be allowed to seek parole after overturning the whole life sentence.

Well if this guy is let and and returns to his old ways I'm hoping the appeals judge is the first one on his list.

Quote
A killer who bludgeoned a doctor to death with a hammer has had his "whole life" sentence overturned by a High Court judge.

Reginald Wilson, 42, of Middlesbrough, was told by the then Home Secretary, Michael Howard, in 1994 that in his case he must die in prison.

Wilson was convicted of David Birkett's murder in 1991, after a court heard his victim suffered 17 blows to the head.

He can now apply for parole after his minimum term was cut to 18 years.

However, Mr Justice Tugendhat emphasised that Wilson will only be granted his freedom if he can convince the Parole Board it is safe to do so.

Wilson tricked his way into David Birkett's home

Wilson had tricked his way into the skin specialist's Teesside home in 1990 by pretending to be a motorbike courier with a parcel to deliver.

He then felled his victim and killed him with the hammer.

Police later found a cache of arms, including a sawn off shotgun and crossbows, at Wilson's home.

Scientific examination of an apparently blank piece of paper revealed a plan to kill police officers.

A notebook was also found, containing a list of police officers and their addresses.

The High Court was told Wilson "was preoccupied with a hatred of authority" and had the idea that by committing the murder he would be brought into direct physical conflict with the police.

Wilson's lawyers, in applying to have his whole life tariff overturned, pointed to medical evidence that he was suffering from an "untreatable psychopathic disorder" at the time of the killing.

He can now seek parole from next month.

The universe is run by the complex interweaving of three elements. Energy, matter, and enlightened self-interest.

Presumably his "untreatable psychopathic disorder" has now been miraculously treated  ::)
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.
