Begins so well, subtle details of modern british life etc then falls into gross-out black comedy that is so cheap, you can neither laugh or take it seriously. In fact, it undoes all the good work it sets up at the beginning of the film by indulging itself in so many 'shocking' moments that it comes across as desperate to be cool. It's as funny and as 'shocking' as a 12 year old who has just discovered swearing. Embarrassing film and a massive waste of an opportunity for something greater. Not in the same league as so many other quality British films out there and certainly nowhere near the brilliant Nuts in May.Despite it's indie quirks, Sightseers lacks joy and soul.
Just watching About Time - most excellent so far....
